South Tangerang, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education – At the launch of the Indonesian Center for Health Evidence-Informed Policy (I-CHIP), the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, clearly encouraged strengthening the physical and mental health of students as an important part of building a Golden Indonesia 2045. For him, these efforts need to be carried out together by strengthening the education ecosystem involving parents, educational units, the community, universities, the media, and related ministries and institutions. Minister Abdul Mu'ti believes that health encompasses not only physical aspects, but also mental and spiritual well-being, which require balanced attention. This is becoming increasingly important amidst the various challenges facing today's younger generation. "There are two main things that are closely related to education. First, physical health, and second, mental or spiritual health. We need these two things, both now and in the future," said Minister Abdul Mu'ti in South Tangerang on Tuesday (September 15). Bandung, September 15, 2026 — The future of a nation is determined not only by the policies made today, but also by the quality of the younger generation who will carry on the leadership. Therefore, building the capacity of young people now is a crucial part of preparing for Indonesia's future. This message was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Atip Latipulhayat, when closing the Youth Civilization Summit 2026, a series of the 1st National Working Conference (Muskernas) of PP Pemuda PERSIS, at the Merdeka Building, Bandung, West Java, Saturday (12/9). According to Deputy Minister Atip, the younger generation needs to be prepared not only to become successors but also to become actors capable of responding to the various challenges of the times. Therefore, a spirit of action must go hand in hand with the ability to think, analyze problems, and generate ideas. He emphasized the importance of two strengths within the younger generation: activism and intellectualism. Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, September 12, 2026 — Deputy Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Atip Latipulhayat officially opened the book review event "Jakarta 1998: From Soeharto to Habibie (Economic Crisis, Trisakti Tragedy, and the Fall of the New Order)" held by the Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FPIPS), Indonesian University of Education (UPI). The event, which took place at the FPIPS Auditorium of UPI, became an academic space to review one of the important periods in the journey of Indonesian history. Through this activity, the academic community was invited to view the events of 1998 not only as a record of the past, but also as a source of learning for the current generation. The forum also became part of an effort to strengthen academic traditions, reading culture, and critical thinking skills in the university environment. The book "Jakarta 1998" highlights the various dynamics that occurred during the transition from President Suharto to President BJ Habibie. Jakarta, September 17, 2026 — The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is opening the selection of Teachers and Education Personnel for Indonesian Schools Abroad (SILN) as well as Permanent Educators at Community Learning Centers (CLC) in 2026. This selection is aimed at meeting the need for human resources in education more precisely based on the formation, competencies, and characteristics of educational units abroad. Of the 174 positions available, 42 are available for SILN, consisting of 39 teachers and 3 education personnel. In addition, 132 positions are available for Permanent Educator CLC (Civil Service Center). Of these CLC positions, 112 are allocated for Sabah and 20 for Sarawak, Malaysia. These positions are part of an effort to maintain the continuity and improve the quality of educational services for Indonesian citizens abroad. Secretary of the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Temu Ismail, emphasized that assignments to SILN and CLC require more than just teaching skills, but also a strong commitment to service in the world of education. Jakarta, September 16, 2026 — The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) through the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) officially opened the 2026 National Science Olympiad (OSN) for Secondary Education Level. The opening took place at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), East Java, Tuesday (15/9). Carrying the spirit of sustainable development of science talent, OSN Dikmen 2026 becomes a space for students to actualize their science abilities, build character, and expand self-development opportunities to the international level. A total of 540 finalists from 28 provinces and one Indonesian School Abroad (SILN) in Japan successfully qualified for the national level and will compete in nine branches of the event, namely astronomy, biology, economics, physics, geography, informatics/computer science, earth science, chemistry, and mathematics. Secretary General of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Suharti, in her remarks, said that OSN is part of an effort to discover, develop, and actualize student talents. "OSN is a space to discover, develop, and actualize students' talents, and this spirit is the basis for student talent management," said Suharti. Suharti also emphasized that achievements achieved through OSN should be seen as an initial step to open up opportunities for self-development and broader education for participants.

Jakarta, September 16, 2026 – Indonesia is finalizing preparations to compete in the 2026 WorldSkills Competition (WSC) in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Twenty competitors and 17 experts are prepared to represent Indonesia, supported by a technical delegate, technical delegate assistant, coaches, mentors, and other support team members. The competitors come from diverse backgrounds, including students and alumni of vocational schools, educational institutions, and industry partners. They have undergone intensive coaching and training to develop the technical skills, mental fortitude, discipline, and precision required for world-class competition. Preparations for the 2026 WSC Shanghai are being carried out in stages. From a technical perspective, competitors will participate in Competition Preparation Week in February 2026. The coaching process will then continue with various simulations designed to mimic the real competition atmosphere, accustoming competitors to the standards, time pressures, and precision demands inherent in the WSC. One of the Indonesian competitors, Kanya Anggrek Gunawan, an alumnus of Raden Umar Said Vocational School (RUS) in Kudus, Central Java, expressed her pride and enthusiasm for the opportunity to represent Indonesia in the global vocational competition. Since February 2026, Kanya has been undergoing various preparations for the competition in the 3D Game Art area of expertise.
